Professional Qualifications and Experience
About me and how I work
Helping others has always been a powerful motivation and, following my own life experience, I became a counsellor and psychotherapist as a meaningful and effective way to support individuals.
I am fully qualified and accredited by UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and am also affiliated to the professional body the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Having trained as an Integrative, Transpersonal Psychotherapist I have experience in various approaches including:
Having experience in many areas helps tailor sessions and an approach to you rather than having to fit to a rigid method - and also means there are varied tools in the cupboard we can try as appropriate.
I've now been active for over 9 years, initially setting-up and running cancer support groups at The Olive Tree (then affiliated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Crawley NHS Hospital) and still volunteer at No. 5 Youth Counselling as I recognise not everyone can afford to pay for counselling.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
Being a therapist doesn't mean being in a completely different world!
In addition to qualifying in Psychotherapy and Counselling, my professional experience is in business in marketing and sales, project management, buying and supply chain areas and my orginal degree is in Mechanical Engineering. I also spent 5 years in the RAF VRT.
