Professional Qualifications and Experience

About me and how I work
Helping others has always been a powerful motivation and, following my own life experience, I became a counsellor and psychotherapist as a meaningful and effective way to support individuals.

I am fully qualified and accredited by both the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and also the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) as a Registered Individual Member. Having trained as an Integrative, Transpersonal Psychotherapist I have experience in various approaches including:

  • CBT, NLP and other cognitive approaches
  • Person-centred (Rogerian)
  • Psychodynamic
  • Gestalt
  • Existential
  • Transpersonal

Having experience in many areas helps tailor sessions and an approach to you rather than having to fit to a rigid method - and also means there are varied tools in the cupboard we can try as appropriate.

I've now been active for over 12 years, initially setting-up and running cancer support groups at The Olive Tree (then affiliated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Crawley NHS Hospital).
